China launched the Tianzhou-7 cargo ship into space, carrying supplies to the Tiangong orbital space station.
Xinhua reported this, as reported by Ukrinform.
The ship was launched into Earth orbit on a Long March-7 Y8 rocket launched at 22:27 local time (16:27 Kiev time) from Wenchang Cosmodrome in the southern province of Hainan.
About 10 minutes after liftoff, Tianzhou-7 separated from the launch vehicle, deployed its solar panels, and headed toward the space station.
Three hours later, at 19:46 Kiev time, the cargo ship successfully docked at the Tiangong main module, where the crew of the Shenzhou-17 mission could safely transfer the cargo to the station.
“Tianzhou-7” is designed for life support of astronauts, orbital station systems, scientific experiments, etc. delivered more than 260 products and equipment with a total weight of 5.6 tons.
The current launch is the first cargo flight by the China Manned Space Agency (CMSA) this year and the sixth cargo flight to the space station overall.
It is also the 507th mission of the Long March missile series.
According to the plan, China plans to launch its next cargo ship, Tianzhou-8, this year.
As reported by Ukrinform, Japan launched a rocket with a government satellite to collect intelligence information that should monitor the movement of military installations in North Korea and improve response to natural disasters.
