Social networks and content like TikTok or Instagram Reels can be addictive and what might take a while can turn into several hours of incessant scrolling and they deprive you of necessary rest. Instagram will now try to snap young users out of their trance with an automatic reminder aimed at teens.
When I was young spending more than ten minutes on Instagram when it’s too latethe app will display a screen reminding you that maybe you’ve had enough Instagram for the day and might consider turning it off.
To sleep
European Union flying behind their ears due to endless scrolling of apps as an addictive ingredient and one of the apps we find this in is Instagram, both when perusing our friends’ posts and by scrolling up endlessly if we’re addicted to a Reels viewing session.
So far, Instagram has given us a variety of tools to control how much time we spend in the app. The passing time (inside Settings > Settings and privacy). The app has different parental controls for the littlest ones and now night reminders.
These nightly reminders will appear when a teen spends more than ten minutes on Instagram Watching Reels or texting at night (from 22:00) and apparently they cannot be disabled. This reminder includes the question: Is it time to take a break? caption and “it’s late, consider turning off Instagram for today.”
Although it cannot be disabled, what young people can do is simply ignore the notification and continue using Instagram. Besides making sure he sleeps, of course.
