The following statements were included in the complaint sent by Ukraine: The Russian eSports Federation (RESF) is conducting activities on the territory of the annexed Ukrainian regions, which grossly violates the provisions of the IESF on respect for the sovereignty of other countries. The decision will remain in effect until the IESF General Assembly meets, where terrorist countries will either restart their membership or suspend their membership until all grounds for complaint are resolved.
According to the press release, IESF conducted “an in-depth analysis in response to UESF’s allegations regarding RESF’s activities in internationally recognized Ukrainian territory.” In particular, representatives of the organization emphasize that there is an article regulating this issue in their rules: “Respect the sovereignty of other participants. A participant must not interfere in the internal affairs of another national federation unless requested.”.
Following an online meeting with representatives of both countries, the IESF Membership Committee recommended to the IESF Board that the RESF be suspended. After a secret vote, the Board “decided to suspend the good standing of the RESF”.
The IESF emphasized that it “strongly condemns all forms of war, hatred, political interference and discrimination.”
