There are so many passwords to remember for the large number of computer services we use that it is not difficult to forget even the most important ones, such as those for our wireless network. Fortunately, it’s easy to search and find your Wi-Fi password in Windows.

When a computer running Windows (or any other operating system) connects to a local wireless network, whether at the office, at home, or in public places, save your Wi-Fi password to your computer. This makes it easier to avoid having to write it every time we connect to the same network. The system simply remembers it and connects automatically.

But it can be forgotten. If you don’t remember it or don’t have it written down, we remind you of two ways to discover it, within Windows 10 or Windows 11 and also using one of the most powerful third-party tools.

Wi-Fi password in Windows 10

• Press the hot keys “Windows + R” to open the Run command.
• Type ‘control’ to access the control panel.

• Click on “Network and Sharing Center”.
• Click on the wireless network the device is connected to to view its status.

• Click Wireless Properties and go to the Security tab.

• There you will see the security and encryption type as well as the key simply by checking the “Show characters” box.

Wi-Fi password in Windows 11

• Press “Windows + I” hotkeys to access the Settings tool.

• Select Network and Internet > Advanced options.

• Click on “More network adapter options”.

• On the wireless network connection, right-click > Status.

• In the same way as in Windows 10, click Wireless Properties and go to the Security tab, where you can check the “Show characters” box to see the key.
