Ukraine will be able to place IT systems in the “clouds” of NATO member countries, and conscripts’ records will be located only on Ukrainian territory.
As reported by Ukrinform, Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine for Digital Development, Digital Transformations and Digitalization Kateryna Chernogorenko announced this at the Yedyni Novyni telethon, commenting on the digitalization of the army.
“The vote on draft law No. 10062 is to unlock the digitalization of the army, the digitalization of the Defense Forces and the opportunity to become more flexible, faster, as well as to provide people-oriented services for the army and conscripts. Cloud services are available to us. Ukraine will be able to place its IT systems in the clouds of NATO member countries This will increase the ability to host this data more securely, we will be able to prevent the physical destruction of Data Centers, we will be able to share and receive partner intelligence more quickly, and we will also be able to transfer our air defense to other locations. You do not have to protect such centers separately. Conscript records will not be stored in the cloud, “It will be deployed on Ukrainian territory – it is important to pay attention to this. It is already deployed, it is already working, it already has a comprehensive information protection system.” Chernogorenko said.
Commenting on the creation of the register of conscripts, reserves and privates “Oberig”, he noted that the adopted law improves the interaction between registries and expands the list of information on conscripts. This will make it possible to fill out “Oberig” according to a simplified procedure, without unnecessary bureaucracy, unnecessary certificates and photocopies. Chernogorenko noted that from now on it will be possible to retrieve the necessary data from other records in real time. The deputy minister noted that the electronic account of conscripts will also be put into operation, citizens will be able to make changes to their personal data directly in their accounts, and this will be more convenient and useful.
In addition, the law will make it easier to obtain the status of a participant in hostilities.
“The status of UBD has also been introduced, the possibility of submitting an electronic application for the status of participants in hostilities has been introduced. We are working to make this service as fast as possible, as customer-oriented as possible. And after the law comes into force, we will provide all information on obtaining such a status online without unnecessary paper documents We will be able to operate as explained Chernogorenko.
He also noted that verification on the “Oberig” registry has already been done.
“We verified the data and converted paper data into digital data, eliminated duplicates and outdated information in the records, and now we are improving the work of the TCC and SP, so that unnecessary sending of subpoenas is eliminated. The deputy minister said, “The military personnel who are informed that they need to come to the TCC “There is no untargeted notification,” he said.
Regarding the electronic military service department, he noted that the start of work will allow citizens to send all the necessary data about themselves without coming to the TTK and SP.
According to the speaker, this office will be opened to Ukrainians in the second quarter of this year.
“We plan to put the electronic cabinet into operation at the beginning of the second quarter, as soon as the law comes into force. And we will be able to provide such functionality in the second quarter.” remarked Chernogorenko.
