Samsung’s latest software update, One UI 6.1, is available on the Galaxy S24 series and has many AI-powered features. While the update brings minimal visual changes to Samsung’s interface, there are some new features in the software.
One UI 6.1 introduces new AI-powered features like Live Translate for real-time phone call translation, Generative Editing for advanced photo editing, and Generative Wallpaper for AI-designed customizable backgrounds. While these additions aren’t revolutionary, they do offer practical functionality, and Live Translation can be particularly useful in bridging communication gaps.
Also, the One UI 6.1 update will not be exclusive to the Galaxy S24 series. Samsung has already confirmed the launch of several other devices, including:

It’s worth noting that on older devices, more complex AI functions may not run as smoothly due to less powerful processors. Unlike the Galaxy S24’s partial features on the device, these may require an internet connection to process. Additionally, not all features may be available on all devices that receive the update.
Additionally, some of Samsung’s newest AI features will only be free “until the end of 2025.” They might need a subscription after this, but Samsung hasn’t given details on that yet. This means even the new Galaxy S24 series may lose access to some AI features after 2025.
