Rockstar surprised us a few months ago remasters GTA III, GTA Vice City and GTA San Andreas in a package that promised to give us back the feelings we had then playing them, but also provided us with editions that took advantage of what today’s technologies allow. And yes, I said we were surprised, it’s a shame it was worse, because the original state of the same was so unfortunate after the launch that the company had to withdraw it from the store.

It is true that after the fixes, the new versions are a bit more decent. And it, at least some of the ill effects we could see in the original version no longer occur. The bad thing is that it was not possible to aspire from such a low base to too high. And beware, of course I don’t mean the classics themselves, far from it. I’m talking about what the company made clear to us when it released these remasters, and that, well, you don’t have to try hard either. According to their creators, GTA III, GTA Vice City and GTA San Andreas were not so bad.

In addition, the company had rare details with the community (yes, now that the “precious” is deeply sarcastic), it began to require add-ons from the original versions. Terminate immediately and remove any plug-ins they have published. Of course, if it turns out that any saga fan creates and distributes free upgrades for GTA Vice City, which are much, much better than the one offered by the developer after paying … well, that studio won’t leave a very good place, will it?

The current situation is that we can buy a package with remastered versions of GTA III, GTA Vice City and GTA San Andreas in the Rockstar store for 59.99 euros (currently 39.99 due to spring sales) enjoy half remastering, outsourced work in which there is very, very little desireand by which society has shown us that its lack of interest in some of the games that have brought it to the top is more or less comparable to the lack of interest it feels for their community.

The latest example of the community showing much greater interest, respect and affection for games than Rockstar itself is in GTA Vice City remake created with Unreal Engine 5 lähde: TeaserPlay. It is clear in the video that his only intention is to show what could be obtained, that he does not plan to distribute it, but to verify that the devoted fan knows better than Rockstar. Although, well, I think I made the wrong verb, instead of saying it, I should have said it. And that makes everything much, much worse.

And, of course, I can only use this news to remember Ray Liotta, whom he remembered mainly for his role in One of Ours, but was also responsible for casting the vote for Tommy Vercetti, the protagonist of GTA Vice City. May the memory last as long as his work.
