The Samsung Galaxy A25 has a lot to offer at an affordable price. The brand presents an unprecedented number of updates and a vibrant OLED screen.
Samsung has managed to offer a low-range model with some excellent features. The Samsung Galaxy A25 (299 euros including VAT) is equipped with a 6.5-inch OLED screen and an unprecedented number of operating system and security updates. The ideal model for premium use at an affordable price.
The Samsung Galaxy A25 has the latest Android 14 operating system and provides four OS updates and five security updates. This is very unusual for a device in this price range. With this unique feature, the Samsung Galaxy A25 is a big step ahead of its competitors. No other device from the lower and mid-range segment performs better.
Operating system and security updates are important for the lifespan of your smartphone. The number of updates begins on the device’s launch date, not when you purchase the device. For example, if the model has two operating system updates and you purchase it one year after the launch date, you will only benefit from one operating system update. In addition, the counting also starts from the operating system supplied. On the Samsung Galaxy A25, this is the current Android 14 operating system, meaning you can run up to Android 18 with four OS updates.
The quality of the screen is above average for a low-range model. The Samsung Galaxy A25 is the only one in its segment with a 6.5-inch OLED screen. The resolution is 1,080 x 2,340 pixels and the refresh rate is a nice 120 Hz. For a device in this price range, we can only draw positive conclusions about the screen.
The photo equipment, however, is mediocre. The device is equipped with a 50-megapixel main sensor, an ultra-wide-angle lens with an 8-megapixel sensor and a macro camera with a 2-megapixel sensor. The photos are of acceptable quality, but lack sharpness and detail. The night photos seem acceptable at first glance until you zoom in for more details.
The Samsung Galaxy A25 is powered by an Exynos 1280 processor, the brand’s own development. Although this processor has not yet fully proven itself and has already failed Samsung models from the more expensive segment, our benchmark test shows a better result.
The Samsung Galaxy A25 performs very well in a price comparison. This processor works fine when browsing or using simple apps. When it comes to graphics, the Samsung Galaxy A25 relies on the Mali-G68 and also performs above average in its segment.
If we have to judge the Samsung Galaxy A25 on one point, it is the battery. The battery discharged quickly, especially during the performance test, so that the device ended up at the bottom compared to its price competitors. Using an Exynos chip could be the culprit.
The Samsung Galaxy A25 battery takes half an hour to charge fifty percent and only reaches eight percent after fifty minutes. Fast charging (and wireless charging) is certainly not an option on the Samsung Galaxy A25. If you want to charge your completely empty Samsung Galaxy A25, you will have to be patient and bring a charger with you, as this is not included in the scope of delivery.
The Samsung Galaxy A25 offers a few strikingly good features, such as the number of updates and a decent OLED screen. This certainly makes it one of the better devices in the lower segment. If you want to enjoy a smartphone with a long lifespan and a high-quality appearance without being too expensive, the Samsung Galaxy A25 is the right choice.

The Samsung Galaxy A25 is available in three different colors: dark blue, light blue and yellow. The basic model has 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage (expandable) and costs 299 euros including VAT. Samsung offers a two-year warranty on the device in Belgium.
Android Update Policy: The Samsung Galaxy A25 runs Android 14 and is entitled to four operating system updates and five years of security updates from launch in December 2023.
