NASA experts presented images of a pair of galaxies merging into a single object located 23 million light-years from Earth, resembling a penguin and its egg.
This image shows the interaction of two galaxies. NGC 2936, once the standard spiral galaxy, and NGC 2937, a smaller elliptical galaxy, bear a striking resemblance to a penguin guarding its egg. This image is a combination of visible and infrared light created from data collected by the Wide Field Camera 3 (WFC3) on the NASA/ESA Hubble Space Telescope.
The image published by NASA was obtained as a result of the work of the Hubble and Spitzer spacecraft. Above it is the object Arp 142, which bears an uncanny resemblance to a penguin.
