Oppo has entered into a license agreement with Nokia to use 5G technology and other mobile technologies. The agreement lifts all ongoing lawsuits and national bans.
It’s special that everything took so long. Oppo (and OnePlus, due to the same parent company) have been banned from the German market since summer 2022. The basis for this situation was the 5G technology, which was installed in the brands’ newer devices. The license for 4G technology is also no longer in order.
Oppo responded to this unpleasant news and emphasized that Nokia was charging unreasonably high renewal fees for its 4G license agreement. Nokia didn’t back down, went to court and won.
