Microsoft Teams is introducing a new feature that makes it easier to control your webcam and audio during meetings. The update is now available for public preview on Microsoft Teams.
Operating audio and webcam used to be a challenge in Microsoft Teams. This required understanding a few settings levels, but that is now a thing of the past. The Microsoft team has started testing simple and accessible tools for switching between your camera, audio sources and speakers. This feature is part of an update now available for public preview of Microsoft Teams and will be rolled out to all Teams users in the next few months.
Everyone has had trouble finding the audio and webcam settings in Microsoft Teams, resulting in awkward silence at the start of your meeting. Fortunately, Microsoft Teams is busy testing a new feature that would make this action easier.
For example, if you want to switch from the built-in camera to a wired webcam, you can now do so more quickly by clicking an arrow next to the camera or microphone button in the meeting toolbar. Here you will find the simplified audio and video options. Additionally, there are also options to enable noise cancellation, spatial audio, or virtual backgrounds.
Today, Windows and macOS users can test this new tool as part of the new Teams client and public preview program. This feature will be available to all Teams users in the coming months.
