Ukraine is calling on its partners to block Russia’s attempts to purchase goods that can be used in the field of military technology from private companies in the West.

As Ukrinform correspondent reports, this is stated in the statement made at the meeting of the Forum on Security Cooperation by Danylo Kubai, first secretary of the permanent representation of Ukraine’s OSCE delegation to international organizations in Vienna. .

“Displaying hypocrisy at the highest level, the Russian Federation continues to criticize the legitimate supply of arms to Ukraine in support of Ukraine’s inalienable right to self-defense in accordance with Article 51 of the UN Charter. The Russian Federation spares no effort. In the statement, it was stated that “Defense weapons are supplied to Ukraine “To disrupt their transfer to Iran and at the same time strengthen their ability to wage an aggressive war by importing weapons from Iran and North Korea.”

At the same time, it is stated that, despite Russia’s statements about so-called “industrial self-sufficiency”, the Russian Federation is making maximum efforts to circumvent sanctions and purchase Western military technologies in order to support its military industry.

“According to some data, up to 95 percent of the critical components of foreign production found in Russian weapons destroyed in Ukraine come from Western countries. It is known that these supplies are carried out by private companies, not state institutions. Moreover, the exports reaching Russia are not necessarily military goods , there also needs to be dual-purpose goods, civilian products and even household appliances.” Kubai emphasized.

With this in mind, the Ukrainian diplomat called for caution regarding such acquisition attempts and the need to prevent them.

“Disrupting the supply of critical goods and technologies to Russia requires a large-scale, coordinated effort by the private and public sectors. But it will save the lives of many civilians in Ukraine and disrupt Putin’s military machine. Russia’s access to these products “Comprehensive blocking of access to modern and advanced military technologies ultimately impacts Russia’s ability to produce, support and deliver cutting-edge weapons to the battlefield in Ukraine,” he said.

As Ukrinform reported, Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said that the West paid twice as much when its spare parts were delivered to Russian missiles: by helping Ukraine recover and at the same time suffering reputational damage.
