The European Commission wants to set up an AI agency to monitor compliance with the AI law. New AI factories would allow startups to use some of Europe’s AI-focused supercomputers.
The European Commission is introducing new measures to support AI start-ups on their path to new AI developments. To this end, the Commission wants to build AI factories with supercomputers that are accessible to AI start-ups and a large number of public and private users. In doing so, they want to stimulate reliable AI developments. The new AI authority must ensure that companies follow AI legislation.
Given the rapid developments in AI, the European Commission is adding new measures for AI start-ups. The Commission proposed the creation of AI factories that would give start-ups and other users access to Europe’s AI-focused supercomputers. By bringing together knowledge, talent and computing power in one place, the European Commission hopes to accelerate the AI race and make Europe the best place in the world for reliable AI developments.
In addition, the Commission also proposes the idea of setting up an AI agency to monitor compliance with AI legislation. The decision on this will be made today. The proposal for AI factories is also still being examined by the European Parliament and the Council.
