Motorola achieves a hat trick with the Moto G04, Moto G24 and Moto G24 “Power”. The three new smartphones cost less than two hundred euros.
A recent survey by ITdaily shows that fifteen percent of IT professionals do not want to spend more than two hundred euros on a new smartphone. Although the range of affordable devices is large these days, it is not always easy to find a good device that stays under this limit. Motorola is today announcing three new smartphones for the lowest price segment: the Moto G04, the Moto G24 and the G24 “Power”.
The Moto G04 features a 6.6-inch HD+ screen with a refresh rate of up to 90Hz that can be dynamically adjusted to save battery power. A fingerprint scanner is integrated on the side. High brightness and night mode ensure the best possible viewing experience in all possible conditions.
We have already seen with the Moto G54 that Motorola can produce good cameras at a low price. The main camera is equipped with a 16 MP sensor and where this is not enough, you can improve your photos with some smart features. It’s more likely that a 2MP macro sensor will be included. You can choose between 4 or 8GB RM which you get with the virtual version RAM boost can double, although this is more of a gimmick than actually useful.
Both Moto G24s feature a 6.56-inch HD+ display with a 90Hz refresh rate that automatically adjusts to 60Hz when the device is in “Auto Mode” to conserve battery power. The cameras are also the same: a 50 MP main camera is accompanied by a 2 MP macro sensor, you already know our opinion on this. The RAM and storage are also the same.
What makes the G24 power so “powerful”? You can definitely take that literally. This variant has a robust 6000 mAh battery that will last you for a long time. The Moto G24 Power also excels when it comes to charging: this device has a 30W charger, while the Moto G24 has a very modest 15W charger. This will save you a few minutes less when you have to get up early in the morning to charge your battery.
It’s nice to see that both the Moto G04, G24 and G24 Power ship with Android 14. The new Android version has been available for some time, so you don’t have to miss out on a single software update. Support policies aren’t specified in the announcement, but if the Moto G54 is the default, you’ll get another update to Android 15 and three years of security updates from today’s launch. We have asked Motorola for more information on this.
The Moto G04 will be available from February 12th in black, green, blue and orange (Motorola doesn’t shy away from eye-catching color options) with a retail price starting at 119.99 euros for the basic 64GB version. The Moto G24 will be available from January 29th in black, green or pink for a retail price of 129.99 euros for 128GB of storage. The Moto G24 Power will be released on the same day in two shades of blue at a retail price of 179.99 euros for 256 GB of storage.
