German automobile manufacturer Porsche AG introduced its first electric SUV, the 2024 Porsche Macan.
This was reported by Bloomberg, according to a report from Ukrinform.
The electric Macan will be sold in two versions: the basic version of the Macan 4, which can accelerate to 100 kilometers per hour in 5.2 seconds, and the more powerful Turbo, which accelerates in 3.3 seconds. That’s a full second quicker than the range-topping Macan GTS with an internal combustion engine.
The battery of the cars, which have a range of 613 kilometers and 591 kilometers respectively, can be charged up to 70 percent in 21 minutes.
Both are equipped with an augmented reality display that transmits navigation commands to the driver’s field of view.
The base model has a starting price of €84,100 ($91,593), while the Turbo starts at €114,600 ($125,000)
The Macan electric SUV is Porsche’s second electric car after the Taycan, which was introduced in September 2019.
Software problems delayed the launch of the new model by nearly two years.
As reported by Ukrinform, the Tesla company plans to start production of a new electric car codenamed Redwood in mid-2025.
