Palestinian National Authority (PNA) Foreign Minister Riyad al-Maliki celebrated the decision this Friday international Courtwho asks Israel take the necessary measures to avoid genocideand recalled that the decisions of the UN Court are “binding.”

Maliki said this in a statement released by his ministry.

Palestine welcomes the provisional measures taken today by the International Court of Justice against Israel. The judges analyzed the facts and the law and ruled in favor of humanity and international law.

Behind genocide claim brought by South Africa The UN court today demanded that Israel “take immediate and effective measures” to ensure humanitarian access to the Gaza Strip and “punish” any incitement to genocide against Palestinian civilians, although it did not call for a stop to the fires in the Gaza Strip. The Palestinian minister added.

We call on all States to ensure compliance with all provisional measures ordered by the Court, including Israel, the occupying Power. This is a mandatory legal obligation.

Maliki stressed that the ICJ ruling is an “important reminder” that no country is above the law, and it should serve as a “wake-up call for Israel and those who have allowed its entrenched impunity.”

Maliki expressed his “eternal gratitude” to South Africa and celebrated.

States now have clear legal obligations to stop Israel’s genocidal war against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and to ensure that they are not complicit.

At a meeting that announced provisional measures in a case brought by South Africa to curb the grave humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip, the International Court also called on Israel to “immediately ensure that its military does not commit any acts” prohibited by the Genocide Convention.

South Africa filed its case at the end of December, and the first hearings in the case were held in The Hague on January 11 and 12, where both countries presented their cases.

Israel insists the charges are unfounded and based on “false” and “misleading” arguments, an Israeli government official said yesterday, who had hoped the International Court of Justice would drop the case but that did not happen.
