Almost half of Ukrainians do not care about their own cybersecurity and do not protect their data

Results

The survey was conducted among 50,000 Ukrainian users. The results showed that 43% of Ukrainians are confident in the security of their personal data on the Internet and therefore do not take any additional measures. Another 57% of respondents use additional methods – antivirus on various devices, two-factor authentication, monitoring the distribution of personal data, changing passwords, etc.

To the question “What personal data protection methods do you use?” The answers were distributed as follows:

  • I already believe everything will be fine with my data, so I don’t use anything – 43%.
  • I have antivirus on my phone – 11%.
  • Two-factor authentication everywhere — 9%.
  • I don’t share my phone number anywhere – 8%.
  • I only download programs from official sites — 7%.
  • I use different passwords everywhere – 6%.
  • I change passwords frequently — 4%.
  • I have antivirus on my computer — 4%.
  • And only 8% of respondents apply all the methods mentioned.

Internet users were asked the following question: “Do you think you got better at cybersecurity last year?”

The results here are very similar:

  • I’m not interested in this topic – 50%.
  • More precisely, yes, I am doing everything for this – 21%.
  • On the contrary, they did not knowingly read anything – 17%.
  • And I understood that very well — 6%.
  • I’m so excited about this, I can now teach – 6%.
