Tesla is recalling nearly 200,000 Model S, X and Y vehicles in the US due to a software bug that could hinder drivers’ visibility when reversing.

As reported by Ukrinform, Reuters quotes this citing the statement of the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

According to the regulator, a system failure caused by software instability could impair the driver’s visibility and increase the risk of an accident.

The company said the recall affects the 2023 S, X and Y models.

According to NHTSA, Tesla released a free over-the-air (OTA) software update to fix the problem.

NHTSA added that as of January 22, it had identified 81 warranty claims that may be related to the condition of Tesla’s rearview camera.

As reported by Ukrinform, at the beginning of January, Tesla recalled more than 1.6 million model S, X, 3 and Y electric cars exported to China due to detected problems with the automatic steering and door unlocking system.
