A Korean nanosatellite took the first photos of Earth

Observer-1A nanosatellite from South Korean startup Nara Space Inc. He took the first photographs during an Earth observation mission.

This was reported by Yonhap, according to Ukrinform’s report.

Korea’s first commercial nanosatellite, Observer-1A, was launched last November and successfully placed into orbit.

The mission of the microsatellite (its width is 20 centimeters and its height is 40 centimeters) was to collect data by observing the movements of ships and cars on Earth and changes in forest areas.

Satellite images show a port in Korea’s southeastern port city of Busan and ships sailing at sea.

The satellite also captured images of the artificial island Palm Jumeirah in Dubai and Apple’s ring-shaped headquarters in Cupertino, California.

Current images have a spatial resolution of 3 meters per pixel, but Nara Space plans to increase this to 0.5 meters per pixel using AI-based image correction technology.

As reported by Ukrinform, on January 29, SpaceX launched two batches of Starlink internet satellites from different spaceports in the United States with a difference of several hours.
