Intel Arc Battlemage could perform at the level of GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER

The chip giant continues to work on its next-generation graphics, known as the Intel Arc Battlemage, and according to the latest information, they seem to offer maximum peak performance will be larger than expected. Before you look at the specifics, keep in mind that nothing is confirmed yet, so what I’m about to tell you may change or even not be fulfilled.

Intel Arc Battlemage is in a much more advanced state than Arc Alchemist according to previous leaks. This new generation will consist of a total of three large models within the upper range and another three within the middle and lower middle range. High range it will use the G31 GPUmanufactured on TSMC’s 5nm node and will be divided into three different configurations:

  • Top of the line with 512 execution units and 16GB of graphics memory that could offer performance similar to that of the GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER.
  • High-end with 448 execution units and 16 GB of graphics memory. Its performance would be similar or slightly lower than the GeForce RTX 4070.
  • Premium mid-range with 384 execution units and 16 GB of graphics memory. This would have similar performance to the GeForce RTX 4060 Ti.

All top models will have a 256-bit busand they will use memory GDDR6X and GDDR6.

Now let’s look at the mid and lower mid range models they will be using G21 GPU. This GPU will also be manufactured on TSMC’s 5nm node. All models will use memory GDDR6.

  • Mid-range with 320 execution units, 12 GB of graphics memory and a 192-bit bus. Its performance should be similar to the GeForce RTX 4060.
  • Low middle class with 256 execution units, 10 GB of graphics memory and a 160-bit bus. This model would offer performance similar to the GeForce RTX 3060 or slightly lower.
  • Low middle class with 256 execution units, 8 GB of graphics memory and a 128-bit bus. In this case, we would have performance halfway between GeForce RTX 3050 and RTX 3060.

Intel may ultimately decide to reduce the number of graphics cards which will be released under the Arc Battlemage line, but initially it would be these six configurations that Intel is working with right now.

Performance data are estimates made on the basis of very simple information, the so-called expected 30% performance improvement which Intel would achieve with the new Arc Battlemage architecture. It goes without saying that since this is theoretical data, actual gaming performance may vary greatly. The chip giant is expected to introduce the Intel Arc Battlemage later this year.
