Since its launch, TikTok has quickly attracted the attention of the whole world – the number of users has already exceeded one billion. He studied each one well and knew exactly what you liked, so he pretty quickly moved on to the next stage, monetization. The company has launched the in-app purchasing feature, but this feature is still not available in all countries.

This will be a new step in evolution I’m trying to sell you something in every post. TikTok is testing a new feature that will automatically identify objects in videos and encourage viewers to “find similar items in the TikTok Store.”

TikTok Shop opened in September and quickly became flooded with cheap, fake products. But the online market is profitable, at least in the United States. Until now, only approved influencers and brands could link to products on the TikTok Shop in their videos. However, everything will change as it will no longer happen at the request of the channel author. The process of recognizing things will happen completely automatically in each uploaded video, where you can find at least one product including cosmetics, clothes, home decoration and more. This feature doesn’t even require creators to tag products.

TikTok confirmed to Bloomberg that it is currently testing the feature with some users, but it’s unclear when the feature will be available unless the company cancels its plans due to backlash from its audience. There aren’t any screenshots on the web yet that show how it works and how intrusive the app presents purchases (whether it’s some sort of small button or clearly visible pointers pointing to specific elements in the video).

It’s worth noting that nowadays, creators who deliberately include links to TikTok Shop in their videos receive commissions for purchasing products. However, it’s unclear whether users will receive commissions for items they accidentally sell as a result of this feature, such as wearing clothes in-store or accidentally showing an underwear item in the background.
