The long-awaited update 22H2 “Sun Valley” from Windows 11 approaching. A Microsoft post on the Windows Hardware Compatibility Program (WCHP) website revealed that the next update to the operating system is ready.
Through that program, Microsoft creates guidelines for hardware manufacturers to test their drivers and submit their final versions before a new version of Windows becomes available to users. The goal is to avoid compatibility issues.
Windows 11 22H2 on the way
In that sense, those from Redmond tell their partners that build 22621, which you can find on the beta channel right now, will be the RTM (production version) of Windows 11 22H2, i.e., Version to be used by OEMs for pre-installs on new computers.
Following this, Microsoft removed the watermark in the lower right corner of the desktop indicating that the version is under development. This set of signs suggests that this long-awaited version of the operating system is in its final stretch, but we still have to wait a bit.
Given that hardware manufacturers have until September 5 to verify their drivers, Windows 11 22H2 could be rolled out to all users at some point. between september and october (perhaps for the OS’s first anniversary), that’s all if there are no issues along the way.
Let’s remember that the “22H2” designation of the update also gives us some clues about the possible arrival date. “22” denotes the year, while “H2” denotes the second half of the year. As for the name, the update is known as “Sun Valley 2”, but that’s unlikely to be its final name.
Well… what kind of innovations can we see when this update arrives? According to what we saw on the beta channel Windows 11 22H2 can focus on fixing bugs and glitches. That is, improving the overall experience of the system with the functions and features that have come over the months.
It should be noted that Microsoft has improved the operating system through various updates. For example, the Windows Subsystem for Android with new features like a new notepad, a new media player, taskbar improvements, and more.
However, there is also a chance to see some long-awaited and in-development features. Among them we find an advanced file explorer with tabs, a start menu that will allow us to create folders to better organize our programs, and more.
