The CORSAIR MP600 ELITE is a new solid state drive that the California integrator offers to cover the internal storage section. It is sold in different capacities and cooling systems to achieve maximum performance in any equipment where it is installed, whether it is e.g. desktop computer, laptop or video game console.
CORSAIR expands the MP600 line, which we have already seen half a dozen versions, “Mini”, “Core” or “GS” that we had the opportunity to analyze. “ELITE” makes full use of the capacity of the PCIe Gen4 interface, although it can also be installed on motherboards with PCIe 3.0.
Like the vast majority of modern SSDs, it uses the M.2 2280 format, which has just become standardized in the consumer market. It uses 162-layer 3D TLC NAND memory made by Toshiba and a state-of-the-art controller created by one of the biggest specialists, Phison E27T.
As we said, its performance level is almost at the maximum of what can be achieved with PCIe Gen4, with data transfer 7000 MB/s and 6500 MB/s respectively in random read/write modes.
To expand their use cases, the manufacturer sells these units with various cooling systems and includes a special version for PS5 consoles. All versions offer 256-bit AES data encryption and free Toolbox software, enabling convenient features such as secure wipe and firmware updates directly from your computer.
CORSAIR MP600 ELITE SSDs are now available in storage capacities 1 and 2 Tbytes, with official prices of 99 and 184 euros, respectively The manufacturer hopes to launch a 4TB version in April. Its durability level is high, at least 1200 bytes written, as well as an official 5-year warranty.
