It is too early to talk about the timing of the creation of the US missile defense system (ABM), capable of intercepting hypersonic aircraft. This was reported by Breaking Defense, citing a statement by US Navy Vice Admiral John Hill.

Revealing that such a system is ready, the army said “everything is just beginning”. According to him, a systems building program is in its infancy, so it’s impossible to say whether it will be completed in the 2020s or 2030s.

The publication recalls that the American companies Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman and Raytheon are currently working on their proposals for the development of a hypersonic weapon interception system. The Pentagon has promised to select the most interesting solutions by the end of 2022.
