The American company WaveAerospace introduced the Huntress II Turbojet quadcopter with a speed of up to 483 km per hour.
As reported by Ukrinform, New Atlas reported this.
Its dimension diagonally from rotor to rotor is 4 m. The drone weighs approximately 50 kg, depending on the amount of jet fuel it carries. At the same time, the maximum take-off weight does not exceed 165 kg.
The Huntress II Turbojet is designed to be mission ready in less than 90 seconds, whether launched from land, sea, or from an aircraft at altitudes up to 6,000 meters.
Flight time is up to two hours, and operators can watch real-time video while flying the quadcopter up to 30 km.
WaveAerospace does not specify the exact power of the turbojet engine, but states that it can easily reach a speed of 483 km per hour.
This top speed is limited by electronic devices, and the company plans to relax this limit over time to allow it to go “much faster.”
The quadcopter can fly in almost any weather conditions, from wind speeds up to 117 km per hour and stormy conditions to temperatures of -34 to 54 °C.
WaveAerospace has raised an undisclosed amount of venture capital to scale production of its other aircraft and fully commercialize the Huntress II Turbojet.
As reported by Ukrinform, the Giez kamikaze drone was unveiled at the MSPO-2023 defense exhibition in Poland; It is compact in size and can be equipped with various types of ammunition.
