First build of Windows 12 tested by Microsoft?

Rumors about the development of Windows of the future continue, and we are getting information about what is likely to be the first build of Windows 12, tested internally by Microsoft teams.

The tree must be moved. Windows 11 has been a disappointment for many users who see no reason to migrate from Windows 10. A big deal considering its official support will end in just over a year and a half. Microsoft is at a crossroads that is not easy to resolve, plus there is a need to boost the PC market, which needs a revival after a difficult 2023 in sales.

We are waiting for the decision of the Redmond company. Launch Windows 12 this summer as a “tweaked” version of Windows 11 and rely on the marketing to sell it, as you already tried with the launch of this when many analysts thought it was just Windows 10.5? Wait until October 2025, when Windows 10’s life cycle ends, and release a real refreshed version?

First build of Windows 12?

And there we are, when the “detectives” who investigate the development of Windows they found out a new build that skips the numbers and could match Windows 12 well.

Anyone who’s signed up for the Windows Insider program will find that keeping up with build numbers is a challenge given the number of channels Microsoft maintains. The latest versions are Beta 22635.3130, Developer 23620 and Canary corresponding to 26040. Now a new development branch has been detected, with build number 27547. The move from 26x to 27x is significant, even if it’s just a number, and the developers most familiar with Microsoft’s engineering say Windows 12 may match it.

There is no way to know for now because this compilation is not public and is hosted tested by the company’s internal teams. There have been many signs of Windows 12 so far, perhaps the most important being the comments from Intel executives, but we believe that nothing has been decided, not even Microsoft, to get out of the impasse that Windows is in. To be continued…
