As you surely remember, We already knew a lot about the AMD Ryzen 8000G APU since November of last year and its official presentation, we have been waiting for AMD’s big event during CES 2024. And as the Sunnyvale company has already told us, The selected day was today, January 31 for these integrated devices to debut on the market, marking an important qualitative leap in AMD’s design for desktop systems.

So, from today it is possible to buy these APUs, which have the following recommended prices:

  • Ryzen 7 8700G: 364.90 euros.
  • Ryzen 5 8600G: 254.90 euros.
  • Ryzen 5 8500G: 199.90 euros.

As you may also remember, four models were shown at the CES presentation, three of which you can find in the list above and the Ryzen 3 8300G, which, as we mentioned, is aimed exclusively at the OEM market, so it is not possible to buy it separately to build your own PC. As for its key specifications, they are as follows:

  • Ryzen 7 8700G: CPU Zen 4 with 8 cores and 16 threads at a maximum of 5.1 GHz, 24 MB cache (L2+ L3), Radeon 780M iGPU and 65 watt TDP. Split into one Zen 4 core and three Zen 4c cores.
  • Ryzen 5 8600G: Zen 4 CPU with 6 cores and 12 threads at a maximum of 5 GHz, 22 MB cache (L2+ L3), Radeon 760M iGPU and 65 watt TDP. It is divided into two Zen 4 cores and four Zen 4c cores.
  • Ryzen 5 8500G: Zen 6 CPU with 4 cores and 12 threads at maximum 5 GHz, 22 MB cache (L2+ L3), Radeon 740M iGPU and 65 watt TDP.

With this generational leap, AMD managed to win a very important point against Intel, and the fact is that the chip giant recently launched the first integrated devices with an integrated device specifically designed for artificial intelligence computing, with the Meteor Jezero family of notebooks, now its main rival was before the advent of this technology in integrated devices aimed at desktop computers.

AMD Ryzen 8000G are now available

As stated earlier, One of the strengths of the AMD Ryzen 8000G is the inclusion of an NPU, with which we can optimally perform certain tasks based on artificial intelligence, without therefore being dependent on cloud services for this purpose. The most common use is related to image processing, for example replacing the background shown in our image during video calls/recordings.

But that’s not the only thing, another very important point of these new chips is found in the graphics they integrate, namely They are capable of providing a more than optimal 1080p gaming experience. As we already told you in our presentation, the Radeon 700M Series graphics, which use AMD HYPER-RX with Fluid Motion Frames, pose a significant threat to the low-end dedicated graphics card market because their performance is even dedicated. , can be overcome by the graphics part of these APUs.

Other aspects that AMD focuses on when talking about the AMD Ryzen 8000G are directly related to squeezing the maximum performance out of the system components. These integrated devices are therefore fully compatible with AMD EXPOAMD technology for easy and safe memory overclocking and Precision Boost Overdrive (PBO), which brings the same ease of management to CPU overclocking.
