Justin Mohn of Middletown Township was arrested and charged with first degree murder and abuse of a corpse in a Bucks County courtroom.
The 32-year-old man was jailed without bail on Wednesday.
It was Tuesday evening when police arrived at the family’s Middletown Township home after a call from Mon’s mother.
There they found Michael, Mon’s 68-year-old father. beheaded in a bathtub with a lot of blood around him, and in the bathtub there was a knife and a machete, the prosecutor explained.
After the murder, Mon posted a 14-minute video on YouTube entitled “Mona Militia – A Call to Arms for American Patriots” (“Mona Militia is a Call to Arms for American Patriots”), police said in an affidavit posted online.
During the video, Mon showed viewers his father’s head twice and called him by name, saying, “Now he’s in hell forever,” while reading from the script, the police document said.
He also said his father, who worked for the federal government, was a traitor, lashed out at the Biden administration and described himself as a militia leader, he said. NBC News.
Mona’s mother told police she had not seen her son since 2 p.m. local time and that her husband’s car was missing.
Hours after police arrived at the home, authorities detained Mohn at Fort Indiantown Gap, a National Guard training facility in Lebanon, about 177 kilometers from the home. (Reuters)
