The National Cyber Security Information Agency reported that a record number of cyber attacks were recorded in the Czech Republic last year.
As Ukrinform reported, Radio Prague International reported this.
In 2022, 146 attacks were recorded, while in 2023, 262 attacks were recorded.
The increase in cyber attacks was mainly due to repeated waves of DDoS attacks by pro-Russian hacker groups, the ministry said.
According to an unnamed ministry official, two incidents in the Czech Republic last year were classified as very serious, meaning they were considered a threat of the highest level.
As Ukrinform reported, on the morning of January 23, the website of the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs of the Czech Republic was attacked by a hacker DDoS attack.
Previously, on October 24, the websites of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Police in the Czech Republic were unavailable for approximately two hours due to a DDoS attack.
