The new Galaxy Fit3 smartwatch has leaked on Samsung’s regional website, and we can already get an idea of what to expect from a wearable device that can offer some of the functionality of a smartwatch for sports activities and health tracking, but in a lighter, more economical form factor.
Considering that the Galaxy Fit2 was – in our opinion – the best biometric wristband to buy in its price range when it hit the market in 2020, we’re keen to see if the successor retains its attractiveness. Almost four years have passed and it’s clear that Samsung is close to restoring it.
Based on the leaked images, the bracelet will be launched in different case finishes (silver, grey, gold or rose) and a choice of straps such as orange, black and more. The straps will have a quick release mechanismsimilar to the one found on the Galaxy Watch6.
The screen will be a 1.61 inch AMOLED, significantly larger in size than the current version. In the image on the front we see several fitness metrics, a list with some pre-installed workouts, sleep monitoring, heart rate and synchronization with Samsung Health. You can also see the battery charge level, which should offer a fairly high autonomy, up to 21 days.
In terms of design, it’s classic Samsung, elegant for our taste, with a larger aa display weight of only 21 grams. The Galaxy Fit3 will run on rtOS (Samsung’s own software) instead of Google’s Wear operating system, which the company has already adopted for its watches. It will compete with the likes of Fitbit Charge 6 and Xiaomi Band 8 and is expected to be very competitively priced. Maybe not as much as the €49 Galaxy Fit2, but competitive anyway.
