We’ve known it’s been in development for years, and for the past few days it’s been rumored that we’ll have a new video for Death Stranding 2 soon, something that’s finally become a reality. Sony has shared a new trailer on the PlayStation account that not only lets us see real game scenesbut it also reveals a part of the title we didn’t know, “On the beach.”

The full title of this new installment will be Death Stranding 2 On The Beach, it will be based on Decima Enginea graphics engine owned by Guerrilla Games that was launched in 2013 and it gave life to some of the best games of the last generation of consoles, as well as the current one.

This graphics engine is highly optimized to bring open world games to life with large scenarios and large rendering distances, so it is absolutely the right choice to give life to this title, which once again puts before us large-scale scenarios that we will have to go through in order to fulfill our work as a “delivery man”.

On the other hand, don’t let the dates fool you. Although the Decima Engine was launched in 2013 received various updates to be up-to-date and adapted to the capabilities of the PS5. This is clear from the moment the new Death Stranding 2 video begins, as we find characters modeled with a mastery and technical level clearly exceeding what we saw in the first part, which was already good in this sense.

I generally see it approach practically identical to the first part. The base of the game is the same, the mechanics and gameplay are also the same, and we have a very careful setting that, together with the improvements that the game brings on a graphical level, will completely immerse us in the story. And speaking of the story, as you might have imagined, it is a continuation of what we saw in the original game, although this time it will take us to other areas of the world, and Mexico will be one of them.

Death Stranding 2 will launch sometime in 2025and as i said at this point it will be exclusive to ps5. However, it will only be a matter of time before we see it on PC, as happened with the first installment, which actually had two different versions, the standard and the “Director’s Cut”. The PC version will most likely be available 6 months to a year after the PS5 version arrives.
