We first learned about it a few months ago NVIDIA worked on the GeForce RTX 3050 with 6GB according to memory. It was a surprise because until that moment we expected the arrival of the hypothetical RTX 4050, of which we even saw a supposed GALAX case, already in October 2022, but this revelation made us wonder if finally the RTX 4050 that we saw in the mobile version would finally had a desktop version.
Much more recently, in the middle of last month, we finally knew the specs reference design of this GeForce RTX 3050 6GB and as we also told you then, we expected its launch to take place during this recently inaugurated month of February. And indeed it was, and we didn’t have to wait long because GIGABYTE has already presented its two designs based on this new NVIDIA specification.
Recall that with this new specification, NVIDIA is proposing an entry-level card, but with all the capabilities associated with the RTX 30 series, making them appear as an interesting option for users on a budget who still want to be able to use technologies like DLSS 2 and DLSS 3.5 (DLSS 3 is exclusive to the RTX 40 series though). These are its main specifications:
The first of the models presented by GIGABYTE is the GeForce RTX 3050 EAGLE OC 6G, a graphics card that, as the name suggests, has been designed to maximize the performance of its components (its maximum speed goes up to 1,500 MHz, compared to 1,470 in the basic version), for this purpose it resorts to overclocking. To do this, the technology company once again uses its more than famous WINDFORCE cooling technology with Alternate Spinning, a solution that reverses the direction of rotation of adjacent fans, so that the direction of air flow between both fans is the same.
In addition to optimizing cooling, this also makes the system more efficient, and therefore reduces consumption and noise. As for the visual appearance, GIGABYTE has opted for a futuristic design with space-themed graphics, symbols and geometric shapes. All this, as you have already seen in the picture, with a very moderate size, which allows the use of two fans. You can find more information about this GIGABYTE GeForce RTX 3050 EAGLE OC 6G on its website.
Again a name that tells us everything. In this case, we find a graphics card specifically aimed at a small device, in which standard-sized models can be too large. So here we find the model whose size is only 181 millimeters long and 69 millimeters highwhich makes it a very suitable choice for small size systems.
However, its small size does not translate into a decrease in its performance. To prevent this, GIGABYTE used a custom cooling system consisting of two fans and a copper tube in direct contact with the GPU. This design makes it possible to capture the heat of the card’s main chip very efficiently, which guarantees that it can work with absolute reliability, even when we push its performance to the maximum.
