The rocket was launched at 11:06 local time (5:06 Kiev time) from a sea site near Yangjiang in the southern province of Guangdong. The launch was carried out by experts from the Taiyuan Cosmodrome in the northern province of Shanxi.
Information about the launched satellites was not provided, it is only known that one of them is the foreign experimental spacecraft NExSat-1, created jointly by the Egyptian National Directorate for Remote Sensing and Space Sciences and the German company Berlin Space Technologies.
Smart Dragon 3 is a solid-fuel rocket with a height of 31 m, a diameter of 2.7 m and a launch weight of 140 tonnes, designed for commercial space launches. Today’s mission was his third.
The rocket is capable of launching several spacecraft with a total weight of 1.5 tonnes into a typical sun-synchronous orbit at an altitude of 500 kilometers. Its first flight took place in December 2022, when it launched 14 satellites into Earth orbit.
To date, China has conducted 10 naval launches, including 5 Long March 11 missiles, 3 Smart Dragon 3 missiles, one Ceres 1 and one Gravity 1 missile. Seven naval launches were conducted from the Yellow Sea, while the remaining three were from the South China Sea. .
As reported by Ukrinform, China launched into space on Saturday morning 11 Geely-02 satellites belonging to the Geely Holding Group automaker and designed to provide accurate navigation data for the company’s unmanned vehicles.
