China plans to launch test satellites into lunar orbit

In the next six months, China plans to launch three funny devices into lunar orbit to communicate between the Earth and the Moon for their next research mission to the Earth’s natural satellite.

This was reported by Xinhua, according to Ukrinform’s report.

These are two twin satellites weighing 61 kg and 15 kg, which will fly in pairs in orbit around the Moon and will be used to test new technologies, including navigation calibration and high-reliability signal transmission.

The third will be the launch into lunar orbit of the Queqiao-2 repeater satellite, which should ensure communication between the Earth and the far side of the Moon; here it is planned as part of the fourth phase of the Chinese lunar program. Land the lunar rovers Chang’e-4, Chang’e-6, Chang’e-7 and Chang’e-8.

The Queqiao-2 satellite has arrived at the launch site of the Wenchang Cosmodrome in southern China’s Hainan Province, where it is being prepared for pre-launch testing.

As reported by Ukrinform, the Japanese Aerospace Exploration Agency JAXA said that the solar cells of the SLIM lunar landing module have started working again and communication with the device has been re-established since January 28.
