The history of the former president of the United States, Donald Trump, for example Twitter with the most popular social networks, is not the best. It was permanently removed from the network in 2021 because of the “risk of further incitement to violence”. That’s why he set up his own social network with the intention of never being silenced again.
On Presidents Day, February 21, 2022, Trump officially launched Truth Social, an app very similar to Twitter, but ran into problems a month and a half after its launch.
It is currently not possible to join from a web browser, Android phones, or from anywhere in the world outside of the United States. For example, when trying to access the app from Colombia, the following message appears: “Currently, Truth Social is only available to users in the US, but rest assured, we are working hard to make it available in your country.”
On the day of its release, it was one of the most downloaded apps in the iPhone app store, but most of the users who wanted to use it right away were not able to use it right away due to glitches. “It’s been a disaster,” Joshua Tucker, director of New York University’s Center for Politics and Social Networks, told the BBC.
Also, the app was supposed to be a tool for Donald Trump to freely comment on world politics, ideas and thoughts. But the businessman has not made any posts on the social network since February, when he wrote his only current comment: “Get ready! Your favorite president will see you soon.”
On Twitter, several users complained of flaws in the app, even as a subscriber, such as the lack of voices in the discussion they should have and the slowness of creating a profile with a waiting list of over 1 million users. .
Finally, the app’s stats are going downhill. The loss of 93% of its users was recorded by a study by “Apptopia”, which shows that downloads are currently around 8,000 per day, initially around 170,000.
