Apple will soon introduce an updated version of the iPadOS operating system. Apparently, the company is going to add many expected features that turn the iPad into a more professional device that can really compete with personal computers. This is indicated by changes found in the WebKit browser engine.

In the WebKit code on which the Safari browser is based, references to some kind of multitasking mode were found, allowing you to freely resize windows in iPadOS.

Specifies that a system switch will be added to the system to enable this feature. Based on whether this mode is enabled or not, the browser will change the display of content and how it works.

It is assumed that the new feature may be somewhat similar to the tablet mode in Windows, where the user can change the interface for more convenient finger or mouse and keyboard control.

It is worth noting that Apple recently discovered a patent for the ability to run applications on iPadOS in windows with variable sizes.

Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman also reported that the company is working on a new professional mode that will automatically launch under certain conditions. Such frequent mention of this feature indicates a greater likelihood of its addition to iPadOS 16.

The presentation of new versions of the operating system from Apple will take place on June 6 at the WWDC 2022 developer conference.
