The adoption of nearly 20 laws and regulations in 1.5 years, which accelerated the development of the UAV market in Ukraine, allowed their production to increase 100 times.
Ukrinform was informed about this by the press service of the Ministry of Digital Transformation.
In particular, thanks to the changes adopted in the legislation, the acceptance of UAVs into operation was simplified, unnecessary control bodies, especially export control, were abolished, additional permission from the Security Service was abolished, the margin was increased from 1% to 25%. %, VAT and import duty on UAV components were abolished, landfills were created for training pilots and testing of new types of UAVs, procedures for decommissioning UAVs were simplified, mass production of ammunition for UAVs was introduced, etc.
“All this made it possible to scale drone production by 100 times a year and create one of the best conditions in the world for development in this direction,” the press service said.
They also reminded that only 7 UAVs could receive a government tender in 2022, and today there are 67 UAV models. In total, there are nearly 200 Ukrainian companies in Ukraine that are interested in UAVs, services and products in the field of drones.
The Ministry of Statistics also emphasized that a separate “technological type” of maritime unmanned aerial vehicles has emerged in Ukraine, which has changed the situation in the Black Sea.
The agency claims that the production and use rate of UAVs has increased, so their number at the front will also increase significantly in 2024.
There will also be growth in 2024. It is now necessary to increase the financing of the sphere. “For example, through UNITED24, we gave UAH 10 million to dozens of brigades so that they can buy everything possible on the market.”
According to them, President Volodymyr Zelenskyi’s task to produce 1 million UAVs is quite real, and thanks to the state program, the UAV Army will be much larger.
“Therefore, the task of next year is to increase the number of UAVs at the front, especially FPVs capable of hitting enemy armored vehicles and weapons at night, to increase their (drone – ed.) range and resistance to REB. For next year, the state, UAV “It has allocated a budget for the development of its field, so we will continue to pursue the UAV Army to purchase UAVs and stimulate the market.” stated the Ministry of Statistics.
The press service also noted that UAVs have fundamentally changed approaches to intelligence, as drones can monitor the battlefield 24/7, track any enemy action and react to it proactively, both defensively and offensively. Additionally, attack UAVs have completely changed both the offensive and defensive doctrines of warfare. Today, FPVs will effectively replace artillery in situations where there is not enough ammunition, but unlike him they always hit the target and are much cheaper.
“Today, thanks to drones, the cost of destroying a tank or self-propelled gun has become much cheaper, and the technology itself has become less effective. A $500 drone can be used from armored personnel carriers or tanks to anti-aircraft defense systems (EW), the press service said. He emphasized that this is the case when the enemy equipment can be destroyed by as much as
As Ukrinform reported, on January 12, President Volodymyr Zelenskyi and Prime Minister of Great Britain Rishi Sunak held talks in Kiev and signed an agreement on cooperation in the field of security. Britain’s defense aid package to Ukraine provides 200 million liras for reconnaissance, long-range and naval UAVs.
