Samsung unexpectedly announced its first smart ring during the launch of the Galaxy S24 series last month. Although there were rumors before the announcement, the Galaxy Ring has created great excitement even though the official launch is still months away. Now, in a new development, a Samsung executive has confirmed the launch schedule of the wearable device.
Samsung executive confirms Galaxy Ring launch schedule
Daniel Seung Lee, Samsung’s Global Head of B2B Wearable/IoT/Accessories, shared on LinkedIn that the new wearable health and wellness product will be released in the second half of the year. The device the boss is talking about here is actually Galaxy Ring.
The Samsung executive’s statement is consistent with earlier rumors regarding the consumer tech analyst’s timeline. The South Korean brand organizes two Galaxy Unpacked events every year, the second in August. However, it was held for the first time at the end of July last year, so Samsung’s plans for this year are still unknown. The event is generally dedicated to the next generation Galaxy Z Foldable devices, tablets and watches. Therefore, it is no surprise that the Galaxy Ring will be launched at the same event.
Samsung Galaxy Ring was recently spotted in the Good Lock app. This shows that the development of the smart ring continues. There are rumors that the wearable will go up to a size 13 and will be incredibly lightweight. It will also be available in three different versions. Meanwhile, the teaser confirmed the presence of a heart rate monitor, Samsung Health support, and pogo pins on the Galaxy Ring.
