ASUS has announced the launch of one of its new gems in Spain, the Zenbook Duo 2024 foldable laptop that was unveiled at CES and was undoubtedly one of the most eye-catching things we saw in PCs at the Las Vegas show.

Innovating means taking risks, and ASUS is not one of the manufacturers that hides. The new dual-screen (or flexible screen) technologies we see on some smartphones have finally made their way to computers. under the password ‘Double Your Bet’now the latest version of the model that has been restored in the search total versatility with a dual screen and detachable keyboard as an ideal accessory, together with a stylus for maximum use.

Zenbook Duo 2024

Its use cases are varied and even they go beyond a convertible or 2 in 1, as it can be used as a typical laptop with the second screen hidden, or you can use both at the same time, with or without the keyboard. The displays have a stand that can be configured to sit on a desk so you can work like a desktop computer. The screens can also be placed horizontally or vertically, or laid flat on a table for use in collaborative tasks.

Zenbook Duo 2024, dual screen and more

The new Duo includes two 14-inch multi-touch OLED full displays, with panel options depending on the native resolution between FHD (1920 x 1200 pixels) with a 60Hz refresh rate or a second 3K panel with 2880 x 1800 pixels, a 120Hz refresh rate and 500 nits of brightness. It can be supplemented with ASUS Pen 2 or other compatible optical pens.

Its internal hardware is not left behind as the company opts for the latest Intel processors, Meteor Lake for notebooks (up to Core Ultra 9) with integrated Arc graphics, 32 GB of RAM and up to 2 TB SSD. Its chassis is premium with a mixture of aluminum and magnesium which leaves its weight at 1.35kg (without keyboard) and 1.65kg complete. Not bad for the dual full screen it mounts.

Well stocked with connectivity with support for Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3 wireless standards, two Thunderbolt 4 ports, a USB port, an HDMI output port and a 3.5 mm headphone jack. Its camera system includes both a rear and front camera with an IR sensor for security and authentication tasks with Windows Hello. The declared autonomy is 13.5 hours in video playback mode and 8 hours of work on productivity tasks. The battery has a good capacity (75 Wh) and the equipment is certified under Intel Evo, so it should be at least acceptable.

The Zenbook Duo 2024 comes pre-installed with Windows 11 Home and is now available on the ASUS Spain website in a high-end version (UX8406MA-PZ271W) with 3K OLED screens, a Core Ultra 9 processor, 32GB of RAM and a 2TB SSD. It has a price 2,599 euros. We expect ASUS to sell further versions with lower specifications at a lower price. In any case, if you can pay for it, you will get it one of the most amazing laptops on the market.
