HPE is investigating a possible new breach in which the suspected hacking group IntelBroker would offer company-sensitive information for sale on a hacker forum.
Last month, Microsoft fell victim to the Russian hacker group Midnight Blizzard, where the hackers infiltrated several email accounts of senior executives. A little later, Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) also fell victim to this gang of hackers. Now the next violation could be imminent. HPE is currently investigating a new breach in which stolen data is reportedly being offered for sale online on a hacker forum. No further details about the investigation are currently known, but there can be no talk of blackmail yet.
Details about HPE for sale
HPE has been hit hard by hackers and is currently investigating another possible breach. IntelBroker, the suspected threat actor, claims to have offered sensitive HPE information for sale on a hacker forum. The threat group shared screenshots from the forum that allegedly contained sensitive information, including CI/CD access, system logs, configuration files, access tokens, HPE StoreOnce files, and access passwords.
HPE is aware of the threat and is currently conducting an investigation into the accuracy of this information. To date, no ransom demands or evidence of impact on HPE products or services have been found.
