Meta, which owns Facebook, Instagram and Threads, said it plans to flag all images created using artificial intelligence (AI) on social media platforms.
This is stated in the company’s press release, as reported by Ukrinform.
“We are working with industry partners to agree on common technical standards that state that content is created with AI. These standards will allow us to tag AI-generated images that users share on Facebook, Instagram, and Threads,” Meta said.
It is stated that the company will start applying these tags to all languages supported by each application in the coming months.
The company added that they now want to learn more about how people create and share AI-powered content.
Meta also reminded that he already uses artificial intelligence systems for other purposes.
“We have been using AI systems to protect our users for several years. For example, we use AI to detect and remove hate speech and other content that violates our policies.” he added.
As reported by Ukrinform, the Dutch government is considering abandoning Facebook due to the way the platform ensures data security.
