Argentina’s highest criminal court rejects appeal Previous President Christina Fernandez (2007-2015) against the decision to reverse the termination of the case in which it was being investigated because of its alleged cooperation in money laundering.

The Federal Court of Criminal Cassation did not accept the complaint filed by the defense of Cristina Fernandez in the case entitled “K Money Route”thereby confirming the reversal of the dismissal, which was decided by the National Court of Criminal and Correctional Appeal on November 28, according to a ruling issued this Monday.

The case, called Money Route K, which began in April 2013, is investigating the former Vice President (2019–2023) for alleged money laundering maneuvers through public works entrepreneur Lázaro Baezwho had already been convicted and with whom the late former President Néstor Kirchner (2003-2007) and Fernández had a close relationship.

Fernandez was approved for dismissal on June 5, 2023, based on a ruling from the prosecutor in the Guillermo Marijuana case, the same one who indicted her in 2016.
