Social network Bluesky has abandoned the system of joining users by invitation, launching a public version of access.
This was reported by Bloomberg, as reported by Ukrinform.
Bluesky, which currently has 3 million users, previously only allowed new users to be recruited with an invite code so the technology behind the network could manage traffic.
CEO Jay Graber said that in addition to the launch of open access, in February of this year the Bluesky Federation will emerge, which is a central part of the social network’s mission, allowing anyone to create their own social network using Bluesky’s technological AT. protocol.
The different social networks created will be compatible, and users of a network will be able to see other people’s posts or switch between networks while maintaining their profiles and followers. Additionally, each network will be able to set its own broadcast rules or create its own algorithms to determine what content users will see.
Bluesky is a social network created by Jack Dorsey, the former president of Twitter. Last November, Bluesky was developing the AT protocol, which was supposed to give users the ability to move both their personal data and content from one personal data server to another.
As reported, on November 17, 2023, the Bluesky social network announced that its users currently number more than two million people.
