LinkedIn is introducing two new features “Grow” and “Catch Up” in the “My Network” section to better inform users about events in their network.

LinkedIn is introducing two new features in the My Network section: Catch Up and Grow, which encourage users to converse with their network and grow their own reach within the network. These new features give users engaging icebreakers to start a conversation with members of their network, eliminating the need for a cold “hello.” For premium users, LinkedIn throws AI into the mix. The new Catch Up and Grow features can be found in the My Network tab, although we don’t see them yet.

Two new features in “My Network”

On LinkedIn you can easily connect with other users to expand your network. Some of these networks are so large that you can’t reach everyone or you don’t know about every event. LinkedIn now wants to change that with the two new functions Catch Up and Grow. Users can see new user events such as a work anniversary or a new job on the Catch Up tab. With a simple click you can like this event or send a personal message, with or without an automatically generated prompt.

The new Grow tab lets you manage your existing connections and find relevant people to add to your network. AI has long been used by LinkedIn to create connections thanks to personalized recommendations and the People You May Know feature.

AI feature for premium users

There is something extra for premium users. You are presented with an AI feature that uses the power of AI to create a message that retrieves information about your profile and the person you want to chat with, regardless of whether they are in your network . Depending on the purpose of the connection, the feature writes a pre-written message that users can edit before sending.
