Honda Motor Co said it would recall 750,000 vehicles in the United States over a defect involving a passenger seat airbag sensor that could fail.

This was reported by Reuters, Ukrinform reported.

The weight sensor in the front passenger seat could crack, causing a short circuit and preventing the airbag from deploying properly, the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) said on Tuesday. Dealers will replace seat weight sensors.

The recall affects 2020-2022 model year Honda Pilot, Accord and Civic vehicles, as well as 2020 and 2021 model year Honda CR-V and Passport vehicles.

According to Honda, more than 3,834 warranty claims were received between June 2020 and January of this year, but no injuries or deaths were reported related to the issue.

As reported by Ukrinform, Honda Motor is recalling approximately 2.5 million vehicles in the US due to the risk of fuel pump failure that could cause the engine to stall while driving.
