Microsoft announces in a blog that Copilot for 365 applications is now also available in desktop packaging. In addition to the web version, the AI āāassistant can now also be accessed directly from the Copilot bar in Windows. Copilot for 365 uses the same chat provider platform as Windows Copilot on the desktop.
Users can choose between a āworkā and a āwebā mode. Work Mode integrates Copilot with the Graph API to give it access to documents, emails, calendars, chats, meetings, and contacts. Microsoft writes that questions, answers, and shared Graph data are not used to train LLMs, and Graph only retrieves data to which the user has authorized access. For added security, users can also enable commercial privacy protection at no additional cost.
Of course, Copilot for 365 only appears in Windows if you have a valid subscription. The AI āāassistant has been available for large companies since November 1st, and in January Microsoft expanded the offer to SMEs and individual users. Copilot costs thirty euros per month for business customers and twenty euros per month for individual 365 subscriptions.
