LinkedIn’s new AI chatbot gives premium users advice when looking for a new job. Recruiters therefore need to adapt their working methods.

LinkedIn is rolling out a new feature to help premium users find jobs powered by artificial intelligence. The AI chatbot tells users whether they are suitable for a particular position and gives tips on how to get more attention on their profile. The aim of the function is to speed up the application process for the applicant, which, however, also brings with it new challenges for recruiters.

AI chatbot

LinkedIn’s new AI chatbot is based on OpenAI technology. In the chat window that appears under the Jobs tab, you can ask simple questions such as: B. “Does my profile match this position?” The chatbot answers these questions using information on company profiles and LinkedIn in the form of a summary. You can also learn more about the open position, the company’s benefits, or the company culture by asking more specific questions. For example, it can also help you understand a specific passage that is filled with difficult jargon.

The aim of this new tool is to support applicants in finding the right job and to speed up and simplify the application process for them. However, for recruiters, this means they will be inundated with potential applicants more quickly. This increases the pressure for them to deploy their own automation to optimally process this larger influx.

The tool is currently available in beta mode and is made available to premium users only.
