The Republic of Poland handed over the AHS Krab self-propelled artillery units to Ukraine. This was reported by Polskie Radio. We are talking about three batteries – 18 self-propelled 155 mm howitzers. The Polish army has already trained 100 Ukrainian soldiers to use these weapons.
Thus, together with 12 PzH 2000 (from Germany and the Netherlands), Ukraine will already have 30 tracked 155-mm ACS.
AHS Crab – Polish National ACS. Its production uses a license turret from the British howitzer AS90. Barrel length – 52 caliber. And as the chassis, the South Korean platform from the K9 Thunder ACS was chosen. The manufacturer of AHS Krab is Huta Stalowa Wola.
The company received a contract from the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Poland for the production of 96 self-propelled guns. In December 2020, a contract was signed for two more episodes. In May 2022, the company announced the possibility of three more deals.
