While X remains at the top among free apps on the App Store, the platform was also shaken by another scandal involving illegal images of celebrities. The hashtag “#drakevideo” trended in the US after users assumed that the video showing a naked man belonged to famous rapper Drake. The clip went viral on the social network.

The incident comes less than two weeks after X tried to stop the spread of other inappropriate images of a celebrity: In late January, realistic AI-generated intimate images of Taylor Swift appeared on the platform. It even forced the company to temporarily block the ability to search for his name.

But such scandals are unlikely to hurt X in terms of app downloads. Company owner Elon Musk boasted that the app rose to the top of the App Store list on Wednesday. typing: “If I got a dollar for every story in the media that one of my companies was going to die, I would never have to look for money!”

But the bad news for Elon Musk is that if the service only activates when someone’s porn is leaked, there’s nothing to brag about.
