Microsoft released a new update optional for Windows 11, which fixes several bugs, including a bug that causes slow file copying. Update identified as KB5014019 also introduces the Windows Spotlight or Windows Spotlight feature, which automatically applies new background images to the desktop.

According to the Microsoft support site, the optional update KB5014019 updates the OS build to version 22000.708 and is mainly aimed at fixing bugs. The only novelty he has introduced is the Windows Spotlight or Windows Spotlight feature, which already exists in Windows 10, but only for the lock screen.

This feature allows Windows 11 automatically apply different background images on your desktop. Users can turn it on by going to the app settings > personalization > background > Customize your background. Then just select Windows Features in the options menu:

As for the bugs fixed by the optional update KB5014019, the list includes the aforementioned bug that causes files to copy slowly, which can be a problem mainly when copying very large files such as videos and others like the one that causes certain user brightness level because the screen is not saved, one of them causes the widget bar to be displayed on the wrong monitor on systems with more than one monitor, one of them causes icons to blur when searching for scan results in certain scenarios, the other causes applications that use d3d9. dll with some video cards to exit unexpectedly, one of them affects the Trusted Platform Module (TPM) chip driver and causes an increase in operating system boot time, and the other causes the creation of recovery discs using the applet. Backup and Restore (Windows 7) in the classic Windows 11 Control Panel (image below) do not work as expected. An extensive list of all fixed bugs can be seen here.
